Every great journey begins with a single conversation.
Primus, the founder of Odyssey Blades, didn’t set out to build a blade brand. But when his wife Ridz — a woman raised in a city where blades have been been forged for generations — looked at him one day and said “this business has changed people’s fortunes, why not ours?” — everything changed.
He researched. He asked questions. He visited workshops. He built. He began.
The name Odyssey didn’t come overnight. It came after months of research — late nights, countless searches, and a genuine hunt for a word that meant something. The answer came from a game about an ancient warrior’s legendary journey — a world of combat, blades, and destiny. The word resonated immediately. An odyssey is a long, transformative journey marked by challenge, change, and the relentless pursuit of fortune. That is exactly what this brand represents.
From one conversation between a husband and wife, to collectors in the United States, Canada, Hungary, and beyond — this is a journey still being written, one blade at a time.
Before there was Odyssey Blades, there was Ridz.
Ridz grew up in a city that doesn’t just make blades, it lives and breathes them. Every street, every workshop, every family carries generations of knowledge about steel, craft, and the art of the edge. A place where blade-making is not an industry — it is an identity.
It was Ridz who saw the opportunity first. It was Ridz who understood that the heritage surrounding her had value the world hadn’t fully discovered yet. And it was Ridz who pushed Primus to turn an idea into a reality.
Odyssey Blades exists because of her vision. Every blade we ship carries a piece of that.
In the early days of building Odyssey Blades, Primus went looking for the craftsmen who would bring the brand to life.
He arrived at a workshop — and found it closed.
The manufacturer came anyway. And in that quiet moment, outside a shuttered workshop in the City of Cutlery, he placed a sword in Primus’s hands for the very first time.
It was a Jon Snow sword — forged in Damascus steel.
That was the moment everything became real. Holding a handcrafted blade — the weapon of a character millions of people around the world had watched, admired, and wanted to own — made the entire vision click into place. This wasn’t just a business. It was a bridge between the stories people love and the craft that could bring those stories to life.
Every blade Odyssey Blades has made since carries that moment in its DNA.
